The best thing about using porcelain tiles for the floors, whether in the kitchen, living room, or bathroom, is that it requires minimal cleaning. Since porcelain tiles are highly resistant to stains, all you need to do to keep it clean and tidy is to sweep, mop, or vacuum at least once a week. You may use plain water or a mild detergent solution mixed with water to clean and disinfect.
Porcelain tiles are also resistant to harsh chemicals. It means it does not lose its color easily when you accidently spill some harsh solutions into it. However, it is important to understand that while the tile itself is resistant to stain or harsh chemicals, the grouts are not. To be safe, use mild cleaning solutions all the time and do not scrub too much especially with steel wool pads. As much as possible, avoid wax cleaners and other detergents that contain oil.
